Gene Rodenberry started the Star Trek series when I was in sixth grade. I loved its campy style. Styrofoam rocks and high-water pants. If your pants were too short in my high school, they were called, “Beam me aboards.“ I lost interest in the series for a couple years but not respect. Imagine my delight when requested to do a full cutaway treatment of the first Enterprise NCC – 1701 – A. I bought all the plans and models and dove in. Imagine my surprise, after doing all the math, to discover a couple of floors were only three feet tall.
