My wife Juli‘s brother Jamie visited us about the time I was launching my illustration business. A strong, handsome, recent college grad who just fit the part of an exciting new assignment for Virginia Mason Hospital. “Draw a version of da Vinci‘s Vitruvian Man.” I’m reluctant to make art about another artist’s art, and certainly not Leonardo da Vinci, so I agreed to make an anatomical version of it. And Jamie was willing to be the model. This was my first medical illustration.
